El a\u00f1o 2014 una pareja de aficionados a la astronom\u00eda, Georgina Serven<\/strong> y Aleix Roig<\/strong>, se fijan en la poblaci\u00f3n de Prades<\/strong> por la excelente calidad de su cielo nocturno. All\u00e1 instalan su observatorio particular<\/strong>, www.astrocat.info<\/a> , con la mala suerte de encontrar debajo de su casa una serie de luces que emit\u00edan gran cantidad de contaminaci\u00f3n lum\u00ednica. Despu\u00e9s de unos meses de contactos con el Ayuntamiento de Prades<\/strong> para que este iniciara el cambio del alumbrado por otro de respetuoso con el cielo nocturno, a finales del a\u00f1o 2015 se cambia todo el alumbrado de la calle y tambi\u00e9n el de la Pla\u00e7a de la Font d\u2019en Grau por luces de vapor de sodio, mucho m\u00e1s respetuosas con los cielos oscuros. En motivo de agradecimiento, env\u00edan al Ayuntamiento de Prades unas im\u00e1genes publicadas en la revista de \u00e1mbito estatal Astrum (Agrupaci\u00f3n Astron\u00f3mica de Sabadell) realizadas gracias a la oscuridad del cielo de Prades. En el mismo contacto se propone de mantener una reuni\u00f3n para valorar la posibilidad de llevar a cabo actividades de divulgaci\u00f3n de la astronom\u00eda en el municipio. La l\u00f3gica hac\u00eda pensar que si las vecinas y vecinos de Prades conoc\u00edan que tienen un valor natural \u00fanico, lo querr\u00edan y lo querr\u00edan proteger. El Ayuntamiento de Prades recibe con muy buenos ojos la propuesta y da todo el apoyo log\u00edstico para poder iniciar, el a\u00f1o 2016<\/strong>, la primera temporada de actividades<\/strong> del que a partir de aquel momento se vendr\u00eda a llamar Astroprades<\/a><\/strong>, la plataforma impulsora del Parque Astron\u00f3mico Monta\u00f1as de Prades.<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de la primera temporada de actividades, el verano del a\u00f1o 2016, la entidad Astroprades<\/strong><\/a> propone en el Ayuntamiento de Prades la creaci\u00f3n de un observatorio astron\u00f3mico<\/strong>: el Centro Astron\u00f3mico de las Monta\u00f1as de Prades (CAMP)<\/strong>. Este tendr\u00eda que poder llevar a cabo actividades de investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica, educativas, de divulgaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y de protecci\u00f3n de los cielos oscuros. El proyecto del CAMP inicia su camino a partir de aquel momento buscando las mejores ubicaciones para la instalaci\u00f3n del centro y ampliando la red de apoyos al proyecto. A finales del a\u00f1o 2016 se suman dos personas m\u00e1s al equipo impulsor del Parque Astron\u00f3mico de las Monta\u00f1as de Prades: Gemma Garcia<\/strong> y Marta Garcia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Hasta el a\u00f1o 2019, la plataforma impulsora del Parque Astron\u00f3mico, Astroprades<\/a>, ha llevado a cabo actividades de astronom\u00eda,<\/strong> cursos con expertos astrofot\u00f3grafos<\/strong> de todo el estado, ha realizado cenas bajo las estrellas<\/strong>, ha organizado un Concurso de Fotograf\u00eda Nocturna<\/strong> anual, que en el a\u00f1o 2019 comparte edici\u00f3n con el concurso organizado por el Parque Natural de la Sierra de Montsant, ha realizado observaciones con telescopios y sesiones en un nuevo Planetario 360\u00b0<\/strong>, y, por encima de todo, ha tejido una red de apoyos al proyecto del Parc Astron\u00f2mic Muntanyes de Prades<\/strong>. Entidades locales, ayuntamientos, instituciones p\u00fablicas, empresas del territorio y vecinas y vecinos de todo el entorno de las\u00a0Monta\u00f1as de Prades y el Montsant<\/strong> se han ido sumando para el impulso de este proyecto.<\/p>\n

El verano de 2020<\/strong> nace el Parque Astron\u00f3mico Monta\u00f1as de Prades<\/strong> con el nuevo equipamiento del Centro de Visitantes<\/strong> situado en Prades.<\/p>\n
